When considering adding an online store to our site we gave it some serious thought as the idea of a shop brings with it a certain responsibility to maintain the quality and the ethos of Tunisia.com which is that we love Tunisia and we want you to love Tunisia also.

Many visitors complain about the products in some shops being of low quality and that other places offer a better opportunity to shop. However we at Tunsia.com dispute this and I personally visited vendors and craftsmen looking at the viability of finding products that our visitors would love. Tunisia values the arts and supports them with initiatives such as the Artisan village of Den-Den (worth a taxi drive) as not unlike Europe local manufacture faces pressure from cheaper cost of production in countries such as China, India and Cambodia. My heart sinks when someone (even some Tunisians I may add) is disappointed with something bought that is not Tunisian and of low quality. You only need to visit the artisans of Tunisia and speak with them to see that they are not in it for the money (although there is a need to sell products) and to see that traditional skills and dedication that founded the Tunisian economy are alive and well.

Our website is owned by Tunisia.com and is located in Norwich England, the payment system is provided by ProTX one of the leading payment providers in the UK. We have done this so that customers have the full statuary rights and customer service provided within the UK and the knowledge that your payment details are not stored (or visible to us) and the only information that is sent to Tunisia is your delivery details and the items that you have ordered, at no time are your details transferred to any third party.

Once received your orders are communicated to the artisans from whom you have ordered products given the handmade nature of the products some items may differ slightly and may take a period of time to craft where possible we specify this in the product description.

Once ready our staff in Tunis package the product and send it to you via RAPIDPOSTE insured delivery so that it gets to you as soon as possible.
