Dorra Charfeddine Boulila

When we first viewed the handcrafted Jewellery of Dorra Charfeddine Boulila we where instantly seduced. Fusing the finest semi precious materials and traditional fine craftsmanship into designs that are timeless and En Vogue Dorra is one of Tunisia’s best kept secrets with her pieces highly desired within Tunisia. We are privileged to include a number of pieces from her collection some of which are one off pieces that cannot be repeated.

Rachid Sahbi

Stepping into the Denden workshop of Rachid Sahbi reminds you of the essence of the Souk and why they have endured thousands of years. The quality of handmade master metal work cannot be beaten and the difference between such items and lesser non-Tunisian items is dramatic even to a layman such as me. Rachid makes art of practical items such as Sishas/Hookah, tea sets and all manner of plates. The items make use of thick handcrafted materials that make them practical as well ornament that will last a lifetime.

Mohammed Ghobel

When I returned from meeting Mr Ghobel I sat down to dinner with my father in law in Bizerte and recalled seeing his fantastic work “Yes he is known for this and in Europe” was his reply as if I should have known. To be fair to myself, it is not every day you meet a man as unassuming and at ease with his talent as Mr Ghobel, who took the time to speak with me and show me how he creates his art. Each artwork (to say carpet is insult) is drawn from a design/painting and numbered, for example a reproduction of a famous painting in material. The finest quality wool is then coloured and the colours combined by hand then woven to produce stunning results. This process can take weeks/months and results can be seen in fine art distributors around Europe. We are honoured to be able to offer a selection of designs by Mr Ghobel some of which cannot be reproduced and are collector’s items, which can be seen as an investment in addition to providing a centrepiece to your home.

Art ET Argent

A family business in the best way Art ET Argent produce handcrafted silver and metal work to the highest standards. Working in their Den-Den workshop the family diligently produce items that are desired in Tunisia along with an increasing international customer base. It takes a huge investment in time and silver to produce their signature silver Arabic Daggers, which only two can be produced per week and weigh in at 700 grams. Another popular item is the jewellery box which is a very popular tourist item from Tunisia, however if buying for a Tunisian ensure that you purchase from a Artisans such as Art et Argent as believe me you can tell the difference in quality. Prices for these items are subject to fluctuation given the volume of silver used.

El Feki Bilel

I love Olives and they form a central part of Tunisian life. I am always told how old they grow to be and that the best trees are worth thousands of Dollars and many find their way to other countries, such is the demand for them. Tunisian olive wood is already famous around the world and there is no better place to purchase than Tunisia itself. El Feki Bilel makes a large selection of olivewood produce that are both beautiful and enduringly practical. We are delighted to offer a few of their most popular items and given demand we will increase the range.

Hedi Arfaoui

A visit to Tunisia is incomplete without struggling through customs with the obligatory Sidi Bou Said birdcage.. damaging it, or finding out you cannot fit it in the cabin.
When you visit Hedi Arfaoui in his workshop you realise why this tourist tradition started. The handcrafted birdcage in white is a beautiful icon of Tunisia and along with white houses and Blue doors is certain to invoke the feeling of those relaxing days.
Made to the highest standard Mr Arfaoui makes birdcages and nothing else, hand pressing the links and painting them, always with a smile on his face.
We are happy to offer Mr Arfaoui’s cages on our site as we know that you will not find better, we stock sizes from 600g/4cm to 7KG/960cm and if you have a special request we are able to request bespoke cages up to 2.70m which are simply spectacular for the large lobby or residence.
